Raise your hand if you’re sitting in your office, staring at an overwhelming stack of books, feeling less and less convinced by the minute that you’re going to complete all your end-of-term duties in a timely and not humiliating manner?
Okay, actually, while I am sitting in my office , probably from now till dark, this is not a Martina-pity-party sort of a day. And do you know why? Because my life is actually pretty objectively great, even when I am this stressed. I went out and had a bonkers (and blotto) evening with my amazing and super-smart friends last night. I made myself a yummy hangover-cure breakfast this morning. I have a huge pot of coffee to drink and snacks enough to last me a whole day. Plus, that huge stack of books? They’re all fascinating! And yeah, you’re seeing things correctly: right on top is The Hunger Games because this literary scholar is writing on the novel this term. Seriously, how could I complain when I get to work on The Hunger Games? My job is pretty cool.
