Dr Makhosi Khoza provides a moral leadership compass to South African leadership dilemma. She is bold, courageous and fearless. As PhD graduate she deserves presidential position as the first South African black president with moral intergrity.
THE REPERCUSSIONS OF COVID-19 PANDEMIC.
Never in the history of mankind has the impact of a disease been so rapid,so lethal and so contagious than this global Covid-19.It has brought untold sorry and misery that cannot be comparable to the normal conventional warfare in terms of the sharpness of curve of casualties. It has brought a standstill all human activities: international sporting games, leagues, church gatherings, parties, mass funerals, schooling, rallies, mass court cases, parliamentary processes, weddings and everything about mass meetings.
In an attempt to buy time for medical scientists to find curative vaccine, the public had to adhere to social distancing precautions.Hence the prohition of mass gatherings.
Amid this dark cloud, leadership wisdom in SA shone like a bright star declaring a national lockdown as a disaster management model to curb the rapid spread of this virus. For this,my leader earned recognition by UNO.
Before,my VOTE was staggering: not sure whom to vote for.But now ,I have made up my mind.It is my open secret that I will vote for the leader of this ruling party. He has shown profound wisdom to safe this country from catastrophic wreaking havoc which could have befallen this country had it not been for his brilliant wisdom.
And now ,why the rating agencies rate us to junk status in this tough time.Surely, they should have postponed to times of normalities.Underrating us was like kicking a dead horse. They should have been remorseful and postpone it to times of favourable climate. But our leader was undisturbed to put into priority that which is of service to the nation……”The right to life”.Economics is secondary issue. The right to life supersedes all other human rights. It is a primary fundamental right. My dear president did not take off his eyes from the ball.Well done! You have my VOTE.My vote is persuaded by LOGIc and not by EMOTIONS.

Hello/Bonjour! My name is Amanda Renee and my blog, academiquechic.com, asks why smart women can’t love fashion and provides a unique perspective on being an academic, mother, and fashion-lover. Feel free to stop by and comment, share, and like at your leisure! 🙂
Hello, Great work here! I hope you will consider adding my blog to your list.
I’m looking for true stories from the world of academia. thanks!

By the way, where do I paste your link into? Not sure how to make buttons. Or do you know a link which tells me? Sorry, I’m new to this function in WordPress, and haven’t found this info elsewhere.

new here. who is there
I’m probably pretty late to the party, but if anybody is interested I’ve recently started a blog as well. My name is Sam, and I’m a graduate student in the sciences. I blog about everything from science to style, food, and travel, as well as about life and how I cope with the stresses of academia. You can find me at http://www.thatcuriouscat.blogspot.com
I can’t wait to check out all of these blogs by fellow academics!

BRAND FETISHISM AS A DETERMINER FOR YOUTH IDENTITY PERSONALITY.
The dilemma a cat would have to choose between a milk and meat is the same as the township youth are to choose between brand names and pornography.I would argue that their obsession with brand names supersedes their erotic fetishism. Is it culture-specific that the township youth of my locality call each other by the brand names they wear? Is it done elsewhere that youth show off their brand name logos even those below the collars ?That is what I have observed.Even those from poor communities wear expensive brand name and live Sikhotane lifestyle in order to gain social acceptance and recognition by others. Those who cannot afford are called by inferior name labels. Why choosing this expensive lifestyle?
How about some of your academic fashionistas posting some of your lectures in The Lecture Vault?!
Great Work!!!
Academic blogging has become a rising trend these days. However, there are several online libraries where people can get help for their academic tasks. Such libraries are very effective for people who work as well. I use one library for my academic tasks, which http://www.researchomatic.com

If you’re updating, I would love to be included here! “Thoughts On Higher Education, Writing and Communication” professorghoshal.blogspot.com
It looks like this list isn’t updated anymore (but just in case it is!), I’m ABD and I just started up a lifestyle blog here http://overcomesomeday.blogspot.com/
In my excitement, I forgot to leave the important details. My blog is Proper Tension – propertension.blogspot.com
Suddenly I feel like I’ve found my tribe! My blog often features what I’m wearing to teach that day (I try to be consistent about posting) in addition to the other tensions I’m trying to navigate. I also happen to teach fashion writing, so I’m doubly pleased to discover this.
Hi! I just started my blog: http://fashionfundamentals.wordpress.com/ and would love to be added to the group. There’s not much up yet; my goal is to post at least once a week. I’m ABD so we’ll see how that goes. I look forward to exploring all of your blogs!
Um… “Fashion Fundamentals” was short-lived, replaced by the more general (but still fashion-friendly) “Tenure Trek” blog, because now I’m on it! tenuretrek.wordpress.com
http://tenuretrek.wordpress.com/
Hi! I don’t know if this is still open, but I am a fresh grad who believes in the power of education and it’s role in progress. I’ve had experience seeing people who don’t have any resources to go to universities (I live in a third-world country), and how they still have a burning desire to learn. What we do have is access to the internet. So I started my blog where people can get free educational resources and material for specialized subjects (Psychology, Organic Chemistry, Botany, etc.) and am in the process of expanding. I hope to share it with as many people as I can. Thanks and hope I can make it to your list! 🙂
Oh and my blog name is http://theresourcecorner.blogspot.com
So glad I came across this series! My blog documents the feminine, classic, and sometimes trendy looks of an ordinary Miami gal (me!) who loves a good bargain. So its focus isn’t entirely looks suitable for academic occupations, but as a first-year grad student (I start on Wednesday), I’m definitely going to be featuring more of those looks in the future. In fact, my last post is called “Work to Weekend Wear”. Also, my style in general is modest enough that most of my looks might work for academia.
You decide if I’m worthy of being included in this series. Let me know. 🙂

I’m so glad you found us, too! I’ll add you straightaway — just be sure to pop the button up on your site! Welcome welcome.
Thanks so much! 🙂
I am THRILLED that I’m discovering such fashionable and creative academic/teacher bloggers out there. As I enter my first year of teaching, I hope that my new blog can serve as inspiration to other academically-driven ladies, as many blogs (such as this one) have inspired me! I hope that I can be a part of this list–I would love to participate.

Awesome! The linking is complete. So glad to have you on board.
Thanks again!
Am I allowed to be included in this as a high school student? I blog about both battling the jeans-and-a-tee, typical high-school look and my experiences as a high school student in a competitive public school.
Asilia
Love this! I’m an academic librarian, and I’d love to be included. 🙂

I’ve been following you on Bloglovin’ forever and can’t believe I just found this list. I teach pre-English 101 (ESL and Developmental English) in the Community College. Though I don’t blog about academia a lot — this is my release — I do feel a special kinship with other academic bloggers. I think we “get” each other, if this makes sense! I’d be honored to link up. Thanks!
Well, of course we’ve got to link you up! Just pop the button up on your site when you get a chance. So glad to have you on board!

Thanks for adding me! Putting the button on my site now. 🙂
Blog of the living Z.
It’s my pressure valve, whining about how miserable I am as a PhD student.
Not very… cheery. Or inspiring. But hopefully us depressed souls can feel a little bit better after each rant.
Hey, not cheery is not a problem — I’m happy to welcome your perspective to the fold (and lord knows, I’m not always cheery about the job myself). So you’re up and linked — just make sure to pop the button on your site when you get the chance if you haven’t already. Sorry, by the way, that it took me so long to get you linked; I’ve been wrapping up my quarter, so you know just how crazy things can get!
Link me up! Fabulous..Come by and check out Teaching Fashionista

Wow. What a great resource. I wish I had found this earlier. I run a blog about my life in grad school at WordPress and just recently started a style blog (feathersandbirds.blogspot.com). I’d love to be added to this great group, and I already grabbed the button.
Awesome! We’re so happy to have you on board — it thrills me to see so many academics having these conversations.
Well, I’m not quite retired yet and would like to be added to this list. http://ragsagainstthemachine.com
I teach composition, literature, and creative writing at a community college in the midwest.
Great! We’re glad to have you. I’ll update the list to include you straight away; just be sure to throw the badge up on your site so that we can all stay connected!
Hi!! I’ve recently found your blog (through whitney’s above) and I love it! This page is such a great idea, I’ve been searching for blogs that are similar to mine…teaching and fashion.
I’m a high school science teacher in San Francisco, and a clothes horse. I’d love to be a part of this community of stylish academics!

Wonderful! I’ll add you right now — I love having more high school teachers involved; you guys are troopers! Just pop the button up on your page when you get a chance and join the party!
Hello!
I’m a middle school writing teacher, social worker, and aspiring school leader. I recently started a blog about my teacher life and style and would love to be added to your distinguished group.
Distinguished? Who knows… But happy to have you with us? Definitely!
Love~ your blog! My name is Nina and I’m a graduate student studying English lit. I have a style blog at http://sweetdisarray.com where I write about, among other things, the experience of dressing up at the university. Thanks!

Thanks, Martina!
Wonderful! You’re on — just grab the button when you have a chance and pop it up on your site. Welcome welcome!
What a great resource! I just stumbled across you this morning (through Frump Factor’s Bloggers Twitter List) and will be back both to discover new academic blogs and to spend more time reading yours. I’m an academic who blogs about my life in general — fashion is part of that, so’s my granddaughter, the opera, gardening, knitting, half-marathon training, etc. Thrilled to have more company in this enterprise.
Wonderful! I’m linking you up, so just pop the button on your blog when you get a chance and more’s the better! Welcome welcome indeed.
Awesome! Thanks for the easy to find list– I’ll add it to my blog roll. I’m a teacher as well, although I don’t know about the academic content of my blog per se. 😉 GenkiOriana from Beauty Raid: http://www.beautyraid.com
I’ll grab the graphic and put it up now. 🙂
Nice!!…I love reading blogs of academic..link me please…http://aboutjeanne.wordpress.com/
Oh my goodness! BEST IDEA EVER. I’m in! I read essays on Virginia Woolf and domesticity for fun AND for work. Not sure how much more academic I could get. Also, I teach Rhetoric.
http://iwouldvestolenachillesheart.blogspot.com
Haha — great! I think you’ve hit the academia trifecta: reading for fun, reading for work, teaching rhet/comp. Welcome aboard — just be sure to grab the button when you get a chance!
Done and done! =D
I’d love to link up and put up a badge if there is still the option to do so. I am so glad to have found this group!
Sorry for the duplicate comment! I realized I left out more pertinent info.
I am Jess and I blog at Consume or Consumed. I put up the badge on my site.

Can I still link up? I am excited to find this list! It truly is difficult to find “fashion” blogs for women who can’t wear mini-skirts to work! Thanks for doing this!
Hi! So many of my favorite bloggers are here! I’m a recently minted Ph.D. in Sanskrit literature teaching high-school foreign languages. I’d love to be part of this lovely group!

Hi, could you add our anonymously-written blog Nota Bene at latinforpayattenetion.tumblr.com?
Thanks,
“Dr.” and “ABD”
Fabulous resource for academic style bloggers! I’m a life sciences grad student and would love to be added.
What a great concept! I’ve been looking for a group/blog roll like this. I would be honored to be linked up too (I’m a senior in college and a future English teacher!). Thank you!
This is so great! I’d love to hook up with everyone here! I’ve added the button to my blog, and here’s my link:

Thanks so much!
What an awesome idea! I’m a grad student, so I’d love to be linked up!
shecouldbeapharmer.blogspot.com
Great Idea — I’m not sure if I’m “academic” enough but my blog is mostly literature + fashion. If it makes the cut, I’d love to be linked up!
This is a great idea!!! Please link me up and thanks for organizing this.
This is awesome! My blog is Pearls of Wisdom, on my site The Professor Is In.http://theprofessorisin.com
Okay, I updated the html — it looks like the smart quotes were getting us, but I fixed them to straight quotes and have learned my lesson about thinking I’m smarter than my computer. Just make sure when you paste it in that you’re using plain text with straight quotes, not fancy text with curved quotes. Thanks for your patience, all!
I’m an administrator in an intensive ESL program at a state university, which gives me a little more leeway with my clothes than people in research-heavy programs, but it’s definitely an academic job. Link me up!
Hurray! I love finding other academics on the web, and I’d love to be included on the list!
The badge doesn’t appear to be working on my blog 😦 Although, it could just be my terrible laptop. I’ll double check it tomorrow at uni …
Kelly @
Elegantly Academic
Let me know if it still doesn’t work for you. I’m having no trouble, but I’m no expert at these things, so it would be totally possible that my html is faulty.
I can’t get it to work on mine either. Not sure what’s going on.
Okay, I updated the html. Let’s hope I succeeded this time!
It doesn’t work for me either 😦 I also noticed that when I copy the html, it’s different for what it says on your site ^^ I tried to tweak it to my best abilities (which are limited) but couldn’t get it to work.
I work in academia, although I don’t talk about it much on my blog, but I love reading blogs from other academics and would be honored to be included on the list.
